this is an old book. I bought out-of-print Leighton paper in 2004 /2005, started painting in 2012, and finished in 2016. Before I knew it, I drew it into a book related to the sea. After finishing the painting, I always wanted to make a summary, which dragged on for a long time. Then put it on World Ocean Day.

the cover shows a big conch my father bought some time. He always soaked it in water, and then there were white spots on the surface. It doesn't taste good. It's probably not Byrne's disease. It's just scale. The paint is a song, and when I paint, I find the contrast between the soft spiral lips and the trivial ups and downs on the back very funny, and the interest in seashells probably begins to sprout here.

in the beginning, copy Fabrice Moireau's painting. The slagging of this paper is very strong, and the subtle color changes do not perform well. But its precipitation is more than twice as strong as other papers, which is very interesting.

then I began to copy the concept design of Finding Nemo, which was probably CG, but I changed it to watercolor. I especially like the sea creatures in the dentist's fish tank who are a little neurotic because they are imprisoned.

then I saw little thing magazine for the first time at Xiaojian and entered a new era. I felt that all the sundries in the book were well-read, and I was attracted by a spider snail and a butterfly specimen.

little thing has an ocean feature. I think I may be completely infatuated with Shanghai's foreign countries because of this.

I watched an ocean documentary shot by a 90 + old German lady diving. The quality of the picture is average, but I think the content is amazing. I didn't know what was painted at that time, but now I know that they are coral, some kind of starfish, sponge (probably), sharp snout, and sea rabbit.

stopped for a long time after drawing the left page. Later, I decided to use the precious last few pages of this book to paint only marine life. The songs and essays are not very useful, because the paper has been kept for too long and the condition is even worse, so most of the time it depends on the bright and delicate Windsor artists to save the scene, sometimes using DS.

Fortunately, the sea rabbits are bright, a little bit, very trivial, and you can still see them when you draw them. If I were to paint the landscape with this paper, it would be a disaster. I quite like the one on the right page. I remember that when I posted it on Douban, a friend said, it was like a fairy tale. The contrast between big and small.

the one on the left is actually that sea hare (spindle snail) and sea hare (sea slug) is not the same things. The DS used on the left page, ore pigments, and precipitated paper, the particles are more obvious. The right page should be Windsor. I love the color matching of these three sea rabbits. The first is like a spoonful of seawater scooped out to form an elf, the second is a rosy sunset, and the third is the depths of the sea.

the left page should be called. What is it?. Naked sea butterfly? Something I'm not sure about. Anyway, I want to show its translucent feeling when I draw it. The drawing only achieves the effect of eight points of the photo, but the eight points are already pretty good. If you see the real thing, you will surely pass out. On the right page is the brilliant trapezoidal crab, which is said to have changed its name now. When I see their dots, I will only be very excited and feel funny and powerful. I know some people will feel secretly scared, what a pity.

the left page shows sea rabbits crawling on corals, which may be less than 15 mm sea rabbits, and corals are the whole universe. I am not satisfied with the long-term painting. At the last Asian shell party in Phuket, a big Belgian shell merchant said he wanted to collect the painting, but. I can't tear a page out of the book. On the right page is the treasure snail. I usually don't like the treasure snail very much, but the last one I drew in this book is very careful and meticulous. Actually. The treasure snail is still pretty. This paper is also quite easy to use, although it was six and a half yuan at that time, now it would have to be 20 and a half, right?

the back cover is painted after the cover. At that time, living in Hongkou, the window on the second floor faced north, there was no scenery. But one summer dusk, seeing these floating clouds, also feel very happy.

in March this year, for the sake of seashells and the sea, I was especially afraid of airplanes and changing trains. I went to Phuket and tried diving on Pippi Island. When I dived down, I was not surprised at all, as if this moment would happen sooner or later. During the break between the two diving, I thought the color of the sea was so beautiful that I didn't think it was terrible at all. With a little encouragement from the coach, I jumped into the sea from the second floor of the ship. As soon as I looked up, I was scared for a while when I found that the water was two or three meters above. However, the buoyancy of the seawater was so great that it floated up, making people feel like a sponge.

when driving, I don't want to take possession of those marine creatures at all. I think if I can see them often, I don't want to catch one and kill it or keep it in the tank. But I am also buying sample shellfish, which makes me feel very contradictory. Once regarded as the little guardian of the earth, I now feel that environmental protection is more of a competition for the interests of different people, protecting or not protecting an animal, and it is more like a vote on whether an animal is cute or not. I don't know because the people who like some kind of shells and then collect them do great damage to these creatures, or they simply don't know that there are these creatures on earth. Confused because of the need for survival, people who directly or indirectly destroy the marine environment do great damage to them. I don't know if there's a moral difference between collecting shells and eating fish... So the last time I saw a Weibo that called for opposing reclamation (as if for the construction of a hotel or something) to protect a coral reef in Hainan, I thought it was simply impossible to achieve.

but the clear blue ocean as cornflower, and those lovely marine creatures, still hope that they will always exist. At least in some parts of the earth, it can exist for a long time.
