Ah, those exquisite tortures about love
Book Review of Marguerite Town
-- Will you still love me when I am no longer young and beautiful?
"Marguerite Town", is a romantic story with a touch of sadness, once upon a time there was a small town called Marguerite, and the only way to get there was to get lost. There was a house called Marguerite in which five women lived, including girls, girls, young women, middle-aged women, and old ladies. They are all called Marguerite, and they are the same person but not the same person. One day, a man who loved Marguerite deeply came to this town. He was lost on the first day of his arrival, so he decided to spend his whole life reading Marguerite's heart. The author tells all the riddles of love in the book, but not all the answers about it (you have to figure it out by yourself).
after reading this book, I was a little upset. Because I think I have finished reading it, but I have not read it, just as I have never read love. I used to think that love is very simple, as fairy tales tell us, "the prince and the princess live happily together forever.". " And the end of all love stories is nothing more than "holding hands and growing old together", or "it is better to forget each other than to help each other". After reading the book "Marguerite Town", I realized that love is much more complicated than I imagined, and it is a difficult problem to solve. There are too many kinds of love: some are like glue, some respect each other, some miss the pursuit of unattainable, and some fall in love and kill each other. Even the state of love varies from time to time, from snuggling to each other, to crying, quarreling, and chattering, and more time to being as insipid as water and indifferent to each other. Love is always as sweet as sugar, and there is no shortage of hurt, lies, and betrayal.
so how does love happen, and what makes a person fall in love with someone? Is it the dazzling red hair, the casual look in the eyes, the intoxicating smile, or the rope tied to the fingertips? Countless people can give countless answers, and in the book, N describes how he fell in love with Maggie: the moment I said I loved her, I didn't feel the love I expressed. I'm just dying to hear her answer. Or maybe I just want to say it. Sometimes we exaggerate. Sometimes, we say something that is not so true and secretly hopes that it will come true. This time, the effect was achieved; because of the vacancy, I fell in love with her. Perhaps love is so caught off guard, lifetime, narrow road encounter, you and I can not be spared, in that Spark flint, palms suddenly grow an entangled red line. But why? Is there love for no reason all over the world? I can't answer, but I think the point where love becomes deeper must be: to be taken care of by the lover. In love, women are always more mature than men. Maggie in the story knows that she is trapped in a "curse". She knows that her lover is not only going to fall in love with who she is now. but also fall in love with 7-year-old her, 17-year-old her, 35-year-old her, 52-year-old her, 77-year-old she-- those women who look completely different from her now, so ah, she never dared to say love easily, so, at the moment N confessed to her, Only then will she give up and run away. But after thinking about all the difficulties rationally and after all the future, love finally triumphed over reason, she still loved him, she still couldn't let him go, and she was still willing to give them a chance to be together, so she decided to respond to his confession. In other words, the moment N fell in love with Maggie, Maggie already loved N deeply.
N came to the small town of Marguerite, saw five different Marguerite, and lived under the same roof with them. Maggie said, "unless you love every one of us, you don't love any of us." If you only love me, only love me the most beautiful years, then I would rather you have never loved, because ah, time is fleeting, Zhu Yan is easy to grow old, one day you will also leave me. Ha! This is a girl's ultimate pursuit of love. N panicked (I think every man might be like this). He wanted to run away. At that time, he couldn't see how deep and determined his love for Maggie was, so he retreated. However, while waiting for rescue, with the knowledge of other Marguerite, N felt that he was deeply attracted (though he still didn't like Maggie). When he left town, he suddenly realized that he had deep feelings for Maggie, and he decided to ask her to marry him. Decided to spend the rest of his life with her. Then the magic happened, and all the other Marguerite disappeared, or they became a person again, anyway, they were together.

if the story ends here, it is a story of true love first, but obviously, the author does not want to end like this. Maybe life after marriage is the focus of the author's narrative, and there is not only honey in love. So can love survive time in the end? Are men used to being indifferent to their wives? You might say that love tends to fade into the details of life, but for Maggie, a woman who pursues the ultimate, such a life is almost fatal. She still loves N and loves her deeply, but this love gradually fades away in quiet time. She cheated and fell in love with a man next door, who was no better than N, but for Maggie, who was submerged in the usual, he was alive. He made her feel needed and someone who could save her from the usual. I don't think Maggie loves the man next door very much. she's just disappointed with the man who took her to heart. She's just looking for sustenance. N regretted it after Maggie left and looked for her all over the world. Depending on the man's sincerity, he always came a little late. He had to wait until he lost it before he wanted to stay, but very often it was too late. It can only be said that you and I are both at fault, or we are both right, but we are used to scratching a knife into the hearts of our loved ones.
that's how I feel when I read it again. Although there are a lot of things going on. There are too many riddles in this book, such as the age setting of the characters (how old did Maggie live), and why did Maggie return to N after leaving? What happened three years after she disappeared? Why she aged rapidly, why she finally chose to commit suicide, and so on, so now I think I'm going to read it again.
